Meet Jason Reed, Your Sales Partner at BPI Packaging Equipment

Jason Reed

Jason Reed joined BPI Packaging Equipment as Sales Account Manager in July 2024, bringing with him a strong foundation in sales and a desire to take on a new challenge. Though new to the packaging industry, Jason saw the opportunity to jump into a highly technical field where relationship-building and strategic thinking are essential.

After connecting with BPI leadership, Jason was drawn to the company’s collaborative environment and the chance to grow into a role where he could apply his early career strengths in sales management while leaning an entirely new industry.

Learning the Landscape…Fast

One of the biggest surprises for Jason has been just how complex and diverse the world really is. From bagging systems to augers and conveyors, each BPI machine serves a wide range of industries, each with its own distinct challenges.

“Even something like bagging has so many variations,” he said. “There are countless applications depending of the product and industry; it’s a lot to absorb, but it’s made me even more invested in getting it right.”

That attention to detail has proven valuable as manufacturers continue to weigh capital equipment investments amid market uncertainty due to tariffs and a world economy in flux. Jason understands the hesitation, as shifting strategies, financing concerns and changing customer expectations all play a role. Rather than simply pitching equipment, his approach is rooted in problem-solving and long-term thinking.

“Some companies are pausing, others are cautiously moving forward,” Jason said. “For me, it’s about becoming a true partner, helping them think through their strategy and finding solutions that can adapt as their needs evolve.”

Backed by the BPI Team

As Jason ramps up his technical knowledge, he leans heavily on BPI’s internal experts to make sure every customer is set up for success. He often collaborates with the company’s project manager and field service engineer early in the process, double-checking specs and customer expectations before moving forward with a quote or recommendation.

This cross-functional teamwork allows Jason to focus on what he does best: connecting with clients, understanding their operations and guiding them toward smart, scalable solutions.

In discussing the systems that resonate most with new customers, Jason points to the rotary pouch machine. Its simplicity, versatility and quality make it a standout.

He’s also a strong advocate for the vertical form fill seal (VFFS) systems in BPI”s IRTA Group line from Spain. Built for easy changeovers and multiple bag formats, these machines offer a compact, high-performance solution that suits several industries.

“One piece of equipment that solves multiple challenges,” he said. “That’s exciting for me and for the customer.”
